Hayward Recall

I got the following message today. Unfortunately, I can't figure out what's being recalled. Not sure if it's the entire pump or a part of the pump. Email below:

We are reaching out to inform you of an important factory inspection requirement involving the following products which will require you to send the product back to Hayward:

• 404200930000 RDX ASSY SUMP 200
• 404200935000 RDX ASSY SUMP 300

We understand the timing of this notification may come as a surprise, and we want to assure you this decision was made after careful consideration. This proactive measure is being taken out of an abundance of caution to verify the sump elbow(s) included with each unit.

Would appreciate any help. If it's just some elbow, I doubt I'll deal with it. The pump has been working fine for 5 years. If it's the entire pump, that would be significant and I'd deal with it if, in the end, I received an entire new pump (doubt it).

The Sump is the pot of the main drain.

I think that you read Sump as Pump.

I have no idea how they expect anyone to pull their main drain pots to send them back for bench inspection.

Clearly this one is for liability avoidance only.

'Hey Mr Judge sir. We told them to send them back and they didn't. So.'

Okay, that helps. Would I even have one of those in a fiberglass pool? i.e., Is that at the bottom of my skimmer basket?

Upon closer inspection of your pics and post history:

I have no main drain. Thanks.

Maybe it was on your parts list originally and didn't get deleted from the build in the system.

Were you thinking of in floor cleaners at one point ? Did the builder suggest them ? Maybe it's a standard upgrade on one of his packages and you didn't get suckered. I mean. Politely declined.

Never discussed a main drain. My guess now is that the builder gave my email when he registered the equipment and that they just put me on their list, as if I was a builder. Who knows. Thanks for the help. I really didn't want to deal with my equipment at any level as long as it's working properly which it certainly seemed to be when I closed it for winter. Again, thank you.

Just got another email.

Dear Valued Hayward Customer,

This afternoon, you received two emails from Hayward with the subject line, 'Urgent Alert: Upgrades Required.' Please disregard both of those messages.

Kinda funny the selling point of these basins is the swivel elbow for versatility. Now they want to inspect said moving part, but it's a wee bit difficult to remove.
