I’m having to backwash my Intex sand filter every day. I’m not seeing anything much come out when I backwash. Even after backwashing for a minute and rinse for a minute I’m still in the yellow. It’s only a week to 10 days old. New HTH sand at that time. Any ideas? We have an intex 20ft x 52" pool. Picture of the filter I have and my gauge attached. When brand new, my gauge was running a little lower but clear at the top of the green. I can tell my flow has been reduced.

Just got my TFT-100 test kit yesterday and plan to test today.

Are you sure the gauge is still good and didn't get damaged from winter? Does it fall to zero when the system is off? If the gauge is good, I would go back to water chemistry. Excessive organics can easily overwhelm the filter and you can't see it. For that, I would ask to see a full set of water test results from either a TF-100/Pro-Series test kit or Taylor K-2006C.
