Hard water in Arizona

Yes, plenty of CH, salt and often TA in your tap water. The best way to manage your pool is by managing CSI. Keeping your CSI between -0.3 and 0 will allow you to manage CH levels well outside of TFP recommendations. We have plenty of desert folks managing pools with CH above 1000 ppm. PoolMath will give you the number, tweak PH and TA to change the CSI. You will likely want TA around 50 and pH at 7.8.
