I didn't realize that these existed until about a week ago and I think it could solve my issue with my pool. My normal vacuum is great and I have no problem with it but it doesn't get the corners very well and the only way I can effectively remove dead algae is to manually vacuum. Has anyone had personal experiences with these other types of vacuums and removing dead algae? I'm sure any of them would look like its removing the dead algae by just stirring it up but I'd like for it to actually remove it.

For example

You shouldn’t be dealing with dead algae unless you’re doing the
SLAM Process.
If you’re having recurring dead algae that means it was recently alive & you need to complete a proper slam.
Those type vacs have basically a skimmer sock in them (at least mine does) that is meant to catch fine debris.

I have the Pool Blaster Max that @RHanna linked to above. It works pretty well, but the supplied filter bag would not capture fine powdery stuff like dead algae; it's too coarse. You would need to buy an accessory fine filter bag which fits inside the supplied bag. It's a good idea to buy a few of the fine bags so you can swap them in and out of service.

Is the fine filter sold by the same company or is it just a skimmer sock? Is it reusable?

Same company and a different size than skimmer socks to fit in the vacuum. Sorry, I should have included a link. Here it is: fine filter bags. They are reusable by inverting them and washing them in the sink.
