Hello all, I just purchased a new best way pool from costco 22x12 feet, and I bought a used Intex pump with clorine generator ECO2011-2. I read some places that the pump with pool is too small and that I should use a bigger one. Also I have sensitive skin, so i thought I could use a salt water system. Although used, I got a pretty good deal on it. I was wondering if anyone knew if this will hook right up. I did some research and read that I may need some attachments. If anyone is familiar with these systems. Can you let me know. The salt water generator and pump are a year old. Only used one summer. There is still sand in the pump. Is that sand safe to use or should I replace it.

Also, is there any must have things I should buy. There is some testing kits that were given to me by the pump seller and some chemicals. I know I need to go buy some salt. I need to have this pool up in two weeks for a gathering. So i'm hoping anyone can give me some insight on things I need to buy before I start this 2nd phase of the pool building project. Thank You all for your help so far. Its been great experience here.

That’s a lot of bits and pieces. So, lets tackle this methodically. First, what is your plan for putting up the pool? Do you already have the site leveled?

What size are the connections, intake and return? The Intex hoses for the pump and filter appear to be 1.5”, so you may need adapters if they aren’t already included in all those parts.

hello the Bestway and Intex pump have the same size fitting. I was able to connect intex tubes into the Bestway pump. Please see photos. I already have ground leveled , with 1 inch pink foam on top .

please attached pictures . I circled the fitings in picture in red , those are the same size , and yellow circles are the same sizes . The inside radius of hoses also seem to be very similar , however the the threaded fittings fit great.

Should order anything now like a salt or a test kit? I don’t know if it will be here in time for the pool party 😊

thanks for your help

I would get the Taylor salt kit (K-1766) and a regular kit (either the one in my signature or Taylor K-2006C) and toss the ones the owner gave you. This way you know you have fresh reagents.
