Hi to all, first time poster here, how many gallons of water will my pool lose daily here in lake Havasu Az in July, 13x30 rectangle pool. Thank you

Welcome to the forum!
My pool is a bit smaller area wise. In the summer months, May to October, I lose about 60 gallons per day to evaporation. So yours may be closer to 80 gallons per day.
Be sure you are using softened water for make up water. Or you will need to drain the pool every year for CH buildup.
I suggest you read through Pool Care Basics - Trouble Free Pool and even look at a few of our videos TFP-TV - Trouble Free Pool

You can look at these evaporation stations for AZ and see if any are close to you.

The dry climate of Arizona can easily produce 100” of water evaporation per year. That’s pretty much the entire volume of pool water in a standard residential pool. Obviously some parts of the year have higher rates than others but the overall average is up near 100”. 50-75 gallons per day is totally normal. It’s about the amount of water per day that a single individual uses. So a pool is like having another human being in your household …

13 x 30 is about 2,900 gallons per foot or about 242 gallons per inch.

Assuming about 0.25" per day, that is about 60 gallons per day.

Assuming about 0.5" per day, that is 121 gallons per day.

Most likely, you will be somewhere in the middle at about maybe 90 gallons per day, 3.75 gallons per hour, 0.0625 gallons per minute and 0.00104167 gallons (3.94 ml) per second.

Yup. June is typically the worst month in AZ as the relatively humidity can drop to single digits and there is usually no rain during that month. I have experienced days where I’ve lost nearly an inch of water due to evaporation. It’s impressive. We also tend to have higher rates all year long because it’s almost always the case that the pool water temperature is above the dew point temperature. So even if the air temps are low, significant evaporation can still occur and any breeze around the pool exacerbates the loss.

Thanks everyone, wanted to see what kind of load my water softener would see. It’s doable. Thanks again.

My autofill is connected to my softener via a separate pipe run from the garage. I have a dual-elimination softener - GAC granule vessel to remove chlorine/chloramines/etc and a second tank that holds enough resin for 53,000 grains of water softening. My regenerated capacity is about 1,760 gallons of water. With that setup my CH barely budges, less than 25ppm/year increase. My softener amply supplies the entire house (two water heaters, laundry machine, dishwasher, 4 toilets, two bathes, two showers and 3 sinks) as well as the pool without a problem.
