Engenius compatible devices

Is there a list of compatible outdoor Engenius wi-fi devices that work with the Pentair Intellicenter systems? My current one disconnects constantly and struggles to see my network 20 feet away. It's a PoE device so I have to constantly unplug it and plug it back in for the app to connect on my phone.

For example, the newer ones such as this:

Would any router work, or are we limited to the Engenius line?

TIA!

A new “High Power Wireless Link Kit,” has replaced the EnGenius WiFi Link Kit (Primary Client Bridge) (P/N 522475Z). These new link kits (523557) began shipping with newer IntelliCenter bundled kits, January 30, 2021. The new kits have two (2) transceivers. One transceiver connects to the user’s router and the other connects to the IntelliCenter. The following is reported:

  • Connection range is significantly better.
  • Establishes a proprietary secure bridge between the two transceivers which automatically negotiates the connection.
  • Allows for auto configuration and formatting (plug and play).
Note: For any users that are experiencing Wi-Fi issues with the older wifi kit and if your unit is under warranty, contact Pentair Tech Support for assistance. The older wireless kits are “field replaceable” with the newer kits.

Any wireless bridge will work. You are not limited to the Engenius box. Some folks have installed other equipment. You just need to find a way to power it and have it be weatherproof outside the cabinet.

This is helpful, thank you!

I've done a fair amount of research on this and reading the many other posts regarding drop outs and issues with the WiFi unit included in the WiFi Link Kit.

The "new" kit is supposedly this... Pentair IntelliCenter 900Mhz High Powered Transceiver Assembly but it looks exactly like what I have now. This is just the old ENS202 which is discontinued and found here... ENS202EXT - Outdoor 2.4 GHz Wireless Access Point/Bridge | EnGenius

Is the 900Mhz change part of the mainboard itself? I see other links to the 523557 part number that show a circuit board like this: Wholesale Pool Equipment - Best Prices - FREE SHIPPING ON ALL ORDERS! and this... Pentair XCVR ASSY HPW 900MHZ REPLACES | 523557

Where's the piece that plugs into the router inside to interface with the 900Mhz card outside? Is the "kit" all the old stuff plus some magical 900Mhz transceiver that connects to a port on the inside router?

If I knew what to buy, I would buy it. The wireless is just bad, if there is a separate part number for the transceiver itself? Are the current systems capable of 900Mhz communication already or is their mainboard work that needs to happen as well? This seems somewhat implied by the pics posted on some of these sites.

I think I could flat out replace the ENS202 with a ENS620 (ENS620EXT - IP55-Rated Outdoor WiFi Access Point | EnGenius) or ENH1350 (ENH1350EXT - Outdoor Wireless Access Point: AC1300 | EnGenius), but it would still use wireless...

This shouldn't be this hard, help!!

Yup, that looks like the high power link and the Install document refers to the IntelliCenter on a page at the end. I think Pentair had used it for the EasyTouch so not really that new.

Have you called Pentair support and inquired about the different part numbers?
