I bought the big bottle to replace the small one that came with the original kit for the FAS-DPD test. When I turn that thing over the drops come quickly from gravity. I don't have to add any squeeze at all. The drops don't look very big and, like I said, I can't slow it down. Any suggestions? Will my results be legit or off because the drops are small?
I've read here that you should try for about a second per drop - there's no way that's possible with this bottle. Those drops are coming regardless of what I try to do.
Unfortunately, I threw away the little bottle as I could have just put some in there. Now, not sure.
Thanks for any insight - it may not be a big deal at all.
As usual, thanks for the advice/help.

I had the same issue with a new 2oz bottle I got recently to replace an empty 2oz bottle. I was at 12ppm with the old bottle and 20ppm with the new one using the exact same sample water. Both tips with the old bottle got me a larger drop and both tips on the new bottle got me small drops. The bottles are a different shape. The new one is a bit taller and narrower with squared off corners while the old one is shorter and wider with rounded corners. Pre squeezing the bottle didn't seem to help either. I don't have an answer and didn't have enough time to test more because after a few more tests I started getting the larger drop size from each bottle.

I did end up just pouring the reagent into the older bottle since that one fits correctly in the TF-Pro case.

Before turning the bottle over, squeeze it a little then flip it over. It should create a bit of a vacuum and prevent the drops from coming out so fast.

In addition to squeezing air out, you can also wipe tip with a wet towel to remove any static charge the bottle may have from shipping.

I am seeing the same behavior with my new bottle of R-0871 from TFTestkits. Much smaller droplets than my original bottle. I tried with a third backup bottle that I purchased as a spare and am getting the same small droplets compared to my original bottle. Now I wonder if I have been "running hot" this entire time.
