My 16' Polygroup Summer Waves framed vinyl pool has a side mount skimmer pump, model SFX1500. The housing has a flange that sticks out at the bottom 3/8" before the bottom cap screws on. There is a small split that is at the main housing mold parting line right at that flange. is this a fluke occurrence or a common weak design.

can you upload a picture as I am not sure what/where your talking about .

I went to school in Redmond growing up, lived in Tumalo :)

Sorry for delay. I go to physical therapy 4 days a week so my energy doesn't have much energy left. I have even been ignoring my muzzleloading forum, so that's serious.
The picture shows the front of the pump base as the back doesn't show up well in a picture. Right above the flange is the leak.20200907_140450(1).jpg

I have never seen a pump and filter combo attached to the pool... I see nothing but issues with that as every time the pool moves that combo flexes... hmmmm, if it were me I would go to an above ground pool setup and hard pipe.... Is this pool setup for years or do you take it down?

I see what you mean about it being a wiggle weight on the pool leading to more problems. Have had it up for 2 years and we drain it down by half and take off the pump unit. It freezes about 3" through the winter along with whatever snow that gets piled on top. Last year it was about 3'+

^^^^^^^ Username checks out

anyway, I'm loosing the initial question of what is a good plastic glue that would work best to fix the crack.

I like gorilla glue on plastics. But not the Krazy glue style one in the little dropper thingy. Actual gorilla glue from the bottle, which they also have in clear so you don't have that god awful orange calling attention to it.

OK, got it. I'll give it a whirl. Don't want to have to spend $60 on a used shell. next year I'll head for getting vinyl material to fill the pool opening and go Hayward skimmer and small sand filter/pump. Any sage advice on brand and size for 5,200 gal.
