I acid washed my pool today. I followed
fairly closely, particularly with respect to the safety equipment but instead of doing a second wash I did some spot cleaning of the worst affected areas with a 1:1 acid water mix.
I'm really happy with the way things progressed, everything from the emptying of the pool to the application of the acid went well but I'm only moderately happy with the results. I wasn't able to completely eliminate the worst of the stains but it's a lot better than it was.

Took me a while to work up the courage to do it but now that I have I think it's well within the capabilities of an amateur with a bit of time of their hands.
