I have decided to replace my pump with a Pentair IntelliFlo3 VSF 3.0. There is a reputable online retailer (1600 google reviews, 4.8 average) that will sell me the pump for $1600. I am waiting on additional local dealer quotes but so far have one at $3000, apples to apples, no install included. After looking at the Pentair warranty page it seems to me if I get it "professionally" installed and register the product my warranty coverage is identical to buying from a dealer. Is there anything I am missing in this?

As long as the seller is an authorized Pentair dealer it does not matter how the pump is delivered to you and how far it traveled in shipment.

So, I just spoke the the retailer I mentioned. They are not a dealer and would only be a 60 day warranty after registration and professional install.
