This channel drain system was installed by my masonry contractor 15 years ago, and I can honestly say I hate it. The plastic cracks after 5 years or so and I have to replace the top. The replacement caps are expensive, and it is a lot of hands and knees work. It is also plastic, and looks kind of cheap.
I was thinking about replacing the plastic with a stainless steel grate. I understand it may get hot in the summer, and may be expensive, but at least I won't have to replace it every few years. But the Deck-O-Drain is 1 1/2 inches wide, and not easy to find a replacement that fits.
Any ideas would be appreciated?
