Crazy Bubbler!

We’ve got a 1.5 year old pool that’s had issues with one of our two bubblers, intermittently, almost since it was built. One bubbler, the one closest to the equipment works perfectly, with a fountain of water bubbling up without problems. The other bubbler, further down the line will splash and spin crazily for periods of time and then work fine for a little while. It can work fine for months at a time and then, like just recently, it’ll splash and spin almost anytime it’s on. The bubblers are not plumbed separately and the valve is wide open. I can’t think of how we could adjust them individually. If you plug the valve for a moment, it’ll work for a few minutes before spinning again. We haven’t called anyone yet and may not, since it’s a bubbler and not intrinsic to the pool operation, but it’s terrible frustrating and ought to be working! any suggestions?!

We have a 14,000 gallon in-ground Pebble-Tec pool, all Hayward equipment, and I’ll try to update my info soon. If anyone needs specifics I can get them. Thank you in advance!!!

The only thing I can think of at this point is to dig up the pipe that feeds them and split it in two with valves on each one. Then reduce the water to the first bubbler and increase it to the second.

It would have been something best done during construction of course, but I'm pretty sure it can be fixed after the fact.

It sounds like you may possibly have a bad unit, but make sure you don't have a return pointed in that bubbler's direction. Initially, one of the bubblers on our ledge was erratic compared to the one next to it, though they were plumbed together. It finally dawned on me that the return on the ledge was directly in line with the bubbler, and could be the culprit. A slight re-aiming of the return and it's been fine since.

Any solution to this problem? Dealing with EXACT same issue. Sunshelf bubbler used to shoot straight now all of a sudden goes into crazy spin mode sending water out of the pool all day. Then other times I walk outside and it’s working normally. Makes no sense. Tried moving the head, the pressure, checking for bubbles. Nothing works permanently only stops it temporarily
