Cordless, Rechargeable Pool & Spa Vacuum

Looks like a more expensive version of this -

Water Tech Pool Blaster Max Li Pool & Spa Cleaner https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001B3SKN4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_340CAb8R5RQ59

The Pool Blasters have been around for years and many TFPers use it for a quick cleanup. I’ve thought of getting one for my attached spa but I always find other uses for my $160....

I think they are very similar.

The one I linked to has a larger head & more debris capacity. It also has a two year warranty vs the one year warranty of the Pool Blaster Max. Also has a Crevice Corner Nozzle which I think will come in handy for the corners of my in ground pool liner.

I think the FX-8Li is geared more towards commercial use - which makes sense since I saw it at a trade show for pool contractors. But I'm thinking it might be worth the extra money, especially w the longer warranty.

Does anyone have either one and can comment on how they like it (or don't like it)?

The Volt series is supposed to be a slightly uprated, private label version of the "Blue Line", which the Pool Blaster Max is part of. The battery lasts a little longer and the motor is a little more powerful. The FX-8 isn't necessarily commercial grade but it would be totally overkill for a spa, but if you're using it in an inground pool as well it's fine.

If you're looking for commercial grade my service tech uses something similar to the PRO 900.

I've gone through two on the blue line so upgraded to this one for winter in-dome vacuuming. It works fine, battery life is longer, but I don't yet know if I'll eventually kill the battery, which I seemed to do with the lower end ones, likely through disuse and overcharging (eg using it, recharging, then forgetting for weeks I had it plugged in, which btw, you are not supposed to do ;)

Being in the winter air dome and under a cover, I rarely need to vac at all, but its nice to have for parties etc. if folks track stuff in.

In open season I don't use the hand vacs much except for my hot tub, which seems to collect sand. For the pool, I run my dolphin m4. But in winter I store the dolphin.
