Control Jandy at a local level with Home Assistant?

Hi everyone

After yesterdays iAqualink outage, it got me thinking about how I can bypass the need for the iAqualink to be connected online to their service. I already have Home Assistant running on a Pi and I was wondering if/how I can use HA to control the iAqualink locally vs connected. If anyone can share if this is possible and how, I would really appreciate it. I already have the Jandy connection made in HA so I can see my equipment already, but when the outage happened yesterday, I was unable to control it via HA.

Thanks!

This is probably not worth the effort. They are not down very often. And I am not even sure they were down yesterday I never saw an outage. Perhaps a partial one.

But, the basic problem lies in that your app or browser communicates with Jandy, who relays the commands back down to your system. I have a PDA with mine which works for most things if the Internet connection goes down. All wired controllers like the OneTouch would also work. You would not be able to change the schedule but you could do most other things. There is a thread where someone tried to recreate Aqualink functionality with Raspberry Pi or something like that. Not sure how successful they were.
