My pool decking is about 2 years old. I live in NJ and after the recent snow I noticed scaling starting to happen. It's not everywhere or all around the pool. I have a salt water pool and I never sealed the concrete. I haven't trusted anyone that I have come out as everyone says something different.

My biggest thing is what can or should I do to prevent more scaling. I'm handy, but I not a concrete expert and want to ensure I do the right thing.

Any help, suggestions and product recommendations are welcome!!!

Just looks like weathered brushed concrete.

I would just leave it looking natural.

Yea but after 2 years Im not sure we should be seeing that. I'd like to try and seal it, but I have no idea if that the play or what to use.

All concrete sealers only last a few years and then need to be recoated. Gets you into a maintenance cycle.

I'm worried the scaling could get worse. So I'm not opposed to a maintenance cycle for sealing the concrete if that would help prevent and keep longer lasting.

Small semi - surface level chips are coming off as shown in the picture. There are a few other spots with the same thing.

I think those are normal concrete wear from freeze/thaw cycles in the winter.
