Concrete Pool deck wall crack and leak

Discovered pool leak and crack. Entire pool is elevated on a slab (spa/wading/pool) 83 inches tall (flood elevation). Like we didn’t have enough repairs to deal with after the hurricanes. Have a pool engineer/GC guy coming for an estimate next week. My regular pool guy says it is an imminent collapse will be very expensive repair due the crack from the spa leading to the outside wall and possible leak from the spa.

Any idea what a repair would entail.

Welcome to TFP.

How old is the pool and deck?

If the soil/sand is settling and unstable under the pool and deck structure, then it may take piers under the structure to stabilize it. You may need piers to stabilize your pool like what was done in this Texas pool…

There are a bunch of Youtube videos showing concrete staples being used to repair gunite cracks.

If the staple repairs are done properly with quality materials and an experienced crew it should hold stronger then the surrounding gunite.

There are a few different crack repair techniques, and concrete staples will be stronger than just an epoxy injection crack repair.

The entire area needs to be stripped down and inspected. Then, you will need to hire a structural engineer to design a repair plan and find a contractor willing to do it.

Looks like it’s been cracked in the past and someone tried caulking it and then painted over it. Figure out what caused the crack before spending any money to repair.
