I’ve been working with PBs here in Las Vegas for a little over two months and though its been an incredibly long, slow, and tedious process, we are close to a final design. It’s a geometric pool, two wet decks, spa, swim up bar, sunken kitchen, and a raised fire pit. Based on what I have been reading on the forum, I met with the builder and reviewed several items, but I would appreciate any feedback or recommendations. Thanks!

Pool Size / Spa Size
  • 37’x16.5’
  • Perimeter 135’
  • Depth 3.5’ - 5.5’
  • Spa - 7x7
  • Gallons - 15,751
  • Wet Deck 1 - 10’x16’
  • Wet Deck 2 - 10’x7’
Build Specs
  • 2 Skimmers - requested and confirmed plumbed separately
  • 2 Main Drains
  • 4500 psi shotcrete
  • 3 36” sheer decent water features
  • Pool Finish - Finest Finish Radiant Fusion (color TBD)
  • 4 Barstools
  • Decking - Artistic Pavers or Porcelain Pavers (trying to negotiate with PB to supply the materials and pay them for labor)
Equipment
  • Pump - Pentair IntelliFlo VSF
  • Water Feature Pump - 2HP pump
  • Filter - Pentair 520
  • Automation - EasyTouch 8
  • Pool Lights - 9 Pentair GloBrite
  • Heater - Pentair Mater Temp 400,000
  • SWG - Pentair IC40
  • Cleaning System - TBD my wife is set on an IFCS (substantial cost due to additional heads needed for both wet decks and bar stools). My wife has zero interest to see a robot or vacuum in the pool or the power cord on the deck
Sunken Kitchen & Raised Fire Pit
  • 3.5’ Deep
  • 15’x12’ Sunken Kitchen
  • Media Wall w/ TV and speakers
  • Alumawood Cover
  • BBQ, separate power burner, fridge, Icemaker, drawers, trash, paper towel, beverage center
  • Countertops TBD - Quartzite preferred
  • 15’x13’ Raised Fire Pit
  • 6’x2’ Fire Pit

Welcome to the forum!
Pool Lights - 9 Pentair GloBrite -- YIKES - they have a lifespan of at most 3 years. At $300 a piece (if you install them), start a savings account. I would suggest researching more robust lighting systems. Though making them work together (how many light circuits are you planning) can be an issue. See Florida Sunseeker, CMP, Halco/J&J.
Get the Intellicenter. The ET8 is old technology.
IFCS -- some like them, most do not. Be prepared to get a robot too so your pool stays clean, or plan to manually vacuum alot.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.

@mknauss I did ask about the lights and share some concerns about the Globrites. We did talk about using the Microbrites since those use the the 1.5” pvc enclosure, but I’ll take your advice and take a look at those other brands. Thanks!

I spoke to multiple owners with built in barstools. You may want to seek similar advice here on maintenance. Ultimately we decided against built in for a couple reasons:

1) hassle of cleaning (obstructions)
2) lack of flexibility (someone wanting to stand at bar)
3) options for removable barstools are pretty nice

design looks great!
