I am using Clorox Pool & Spa 32312CLX Shock Plus.
(once every two to four weeks)
It says "swim-ready in 15 minutes" but can I use it after 15 minutes? Can I believe it?
I wonder if sodium dichloro can actually swim after 15 minutes or if it's bad for our bodies.
When I look up the relevant data, one side says it's possible and the other side doesn't say anything about it.

In the product description, it says 'Treat and Swim in 15 minutes if free chlorine is between 1 and 4 ppm', so I match FC about 1 or 4. And I've seen a post on the forum saying that administering sodium dichloro is not accurate as an OTO test. I thought it was safe after watching YouTube or product description, but I recently got a different opinion. I'd like to hear seniors' opinions.

Brush any residuals around and it's dissolved and fine in 15 mins with good circulation.

However.

You're following impossible industry advice. The sun burns off up to 4 ppm of FC daily. Unless you're adding several times a day, 1 to 4 ppm isn't possible to maintain daily.

On top of that, your CYA binds/buffers the FC so it's not all available to sanitize. As the CYA increases, the FC must increase to sanitize at the same level. All levels on this chart are equal for sanitizing.

It's only sanitary above min FC per your CYA, and safe to swim between min and SLAM.

How are you testing ?

Do you add daily to match the UV / FC loss, or weekly like the pool store / industry says ?

Have a read and ask away.
