Chlorinator off- no flow check system

I'm pretty new to this pool. But we had it working fine until last night, when we got this message and the filter turned itself off. Chlorinator off- no flow. Check system. The SWG seems to be Jacuzzi brand. The board is Aqua Logic Goldmine. I tried backwashing, but that didn't help. There is also a heater that heats the water before it goes into the swg. Thanks!

The filter does not turn on and off. Your main pump turns on and off and flows water to the filter. Your chlorinator would give you an Off- No Flow message if the pool pump was off.

Yet, you say you backwashed which indicates the pump is operational.

So first question is the pump on? What is on and what is off?

If you can't describe your system then post pics of your equipment, valves, and pool controls.

I guess I mean the pump cuts off And then the message says chlorinator off- no flow. Check system.

Ok. You say the pump cuts off. Can you turn the pump right back on?

That's a pretty strong pump. If the system is saying No Flow, then there might be a flow problem or a problem with the flow switch.

If you have flow monitoring enabled in filter configuration, then the pump will turn off if there is no flow for several minutes.

Can you confirm that you're actually getting good flow?

What's the filter pressure?

The filter is running around 24 which is normal for this DE filter. There is water being pulled into the skimmers while the pump is on for a few minutes and the polaris works well during that time.

Ok, I suspect that you probably have a bad flow switch.

You can turn off flow monitoring in filter configuration if you want the pump to continue to run. Only do this if you are sure that you have good flow by checking for flow in the skimmers and the returns.

The salt cell will not work until you get a good flow reading.

I would replace the flow switch.
