Just getting started in the idea of getting a pool but I will have to move my septic system (tank and leech field) to the side of the house to install pool in the back yard. We considered moving but we really like where we are so we are willing to move the septic system.. My question is.. Is it ok to have the pool where my drain field were ? Will I have to do any thing special when the hole is dug for the pool etc.. PBs ive talked to seem like it's no big deal but I would like to have options from people who don't want to take my $$$.. Thanks

Once you move the drain field there'll be no problem placing the pool where the old one was. They may need to dig back from the pool wall and fill and compact where they encounter the physical piping, but that's not an issue.

You are looking at a lot of extra money to move your entire septic system. Around here it would be probably $25k-$50k for the move. We also have specific rules about a 2nd alternate location. It may also require separate permits or county engineering studies/signoffs.
