Water Chemistry Help

So I took a sample of my tap water to the place I got my hot tub (450 gallon Hot Springs 2024 Pulse w/ Ozone) from and it showed.... (well water)

Bromine 1.13

pH 7.5

TA 175

CH 141

Total Fe 0.10

Cu 0.10

Borate 1.00

Their machine said to use 7 oz Ph Down, and 10 oz Calcium. I'm using bromine so they gave me a floater and told me to start the tub with dichlor (1/2 oz). After doing that and discussing on here I also wound up with Sodium Bromate (PureSpa Brom Bank) and added that today as well, specifically 8 fl oz (says 2 fl oz per 100 gallons). Then I shocked with 1 1/4 cup of "performance" bleach (7.55%) (this was WAY too much... somehow I thought it was regular bleach... not 7.55%).

Currently according to my testing my chloride/bromine is high... took 18 drops of R-0871 in 10mL. So I chlorine would be 9 ppm, and bromine would be like 40.5....

pH 7.6

TA 110

CH 275

So right now my issues are that the chlorine/bromine is high... which is expected, but also my CH is 275.

Questions:

1) Anything to do about calcium/bromine other than just wait? It will eventually come down?

2) Is the CH to high? I added what that printout they gave me told me to add..... Do I need to fix it or can I just fix it in 4 months when I refill? If I should fix it I assume just dump some water and top back off?

3) Should I just dump it and start over?

Any help appreciated.....

I hadn't.... I did now though. But where should I go from here? I'll follow this next time though

You can follow it now.
The first step is to rely on your own testing with your Taylor k2006 or tf100, stop getting advice from the pool store,
& use PoolMath for calculating additions.

took 18 drops of R-0871 in 10mL. So I chlorine would be 9 ppm, and bromine would be like 40.5....
9ppm fc x2.25 =20.25 ppm Total Br
If you leave the cover open and let the sunlight in the Total Br will go down.
It is safe to use the tub once it falls below 10ppm.

The ch can only be lowered by exchanging water.
275 isn’t terribly high - ch is one of the tests the pool stores get wrong the most so test it yourself.

As you manage ph to keep it in the 7’s your ta will fall.
For most people once it gets around 50/60 the ph rise frequency is noticeably less.

If you have added the sodium bromate you now have a “bank” & you can discontinue the tabs, then be on a 2 step system & only need liquid chlorine to reactivate your bank & maintain 4-6ppm total br If you wish.
The dichlor in the tabs & granules is acidic (lowers ph) so take that into consideration when using them to shock or maintain your sanitizer levels.
