I broke the 3/4 inch pvc pipe that returns from the booster pump to the pool. Normally I would have just cut the end off and then reattached the plumbing with I guess an adatper? The end of this pipe looks flared. How to I go about re-plumbing this? Do I cut below the flair and then just put a coupling and start from there?

Cut/file the broken pipe flush with the top of the reducer, then use a 3/4" socket saver (see below) to remove the old pipe. Then you can just plumb to the existing fitting.

The fitting is not very deep.
Cut just below the fitting and there should be enough socket left to insert a new fitting.

Take a shop vac with you and point it at the fitting while you are cleaning it out. Will lessen any amount of shavings that might go down the pipe...
Cut the 2" pipe below the fitting, glue on a 2" coupler, then this into the coupler (2"S x 3/4"FIP bushing):
