You can get replacement flow switch for about $60. If needed.

As mentioned above, flow should be up through a vertically installed Pentair swcg. As yours is installed, if the flow switch fails, it likely will fail ON, which is dangerous for a swcg.

Thank y'all so much for your help. It is a shame that you pay someone to install àn expensive item like a pool and they do it wrong. This is a very reputable pool installer in my area also

Would I be better reversing the switch and installing it on the bottom of the swcg like it was before?

No. It will have same effect if a failure. Does your swcg completely power off when the pump is off?
