Does this mean it doesn’t need to be turned on to charge? I thought I read that it does, but maybe I didn’t?I pulled the SE out emptied the basket and cleaned it up and put it on the deck in a sunny spot for a couple of hours.
I have both. I charge the Plus, and it will run 48 hours typically, maybe longer if it's been sunny (my pool is 75% shade). While it's running I put the old Betta in the sun to charge. When the Plus dies I run the old one until it dies; I charge the Plus while it's running. There's seldom a time when something isn't skimming, works great!I think the guidance about turning it off when it’s out of the pool was official concern about the batteries getting hot in the sun while charging without pool water to carry away excess heat. Shouldn’t be much of an issue in the winter.
A couple questions for SE Plus folks:
1. If you put the cleaner in the pool with a full charge once during short winter days, how many nights can you go before the solar panel can’t keep up and you need to charge it up again?
2. For those who upgraded to the SE Plus and still have the older Betta, how well do they play together?
