Best testing kit to purchase? Total newbie

Hi All,

i have a basic pool setup - no SWG, water features, or heater. Very little usage. Which kit is the best to purchase to get started with Pool School?

8500 gallons is no kiddie pool. You have a grownup pool so you need a grownup test kit. Pool School - Test Kits Compared lays it all out.

I personally use a TF100. The quantities of each reagent are more realistic.

I will second this, and recommend that if you can swing the price, get it with the "XL" option and get the SpeedStir. The XL option has double the testing reagents than the normal-sized TF-100 for the FAS-DPD chlorine test, and the SpeedStir will really help you mix the chemicals during testing so you're not having to manually shake the vials. It's much easier to count drops while a machine is stirring your test, instead of shaking with one hand while dropping with the other.

TF-100 for peace of mind that the chemistry is fresh. I personally like the case from the Taylor 2006C better so I use it with TF-100 reagents.

I'll dog pile on and suggest the TF100 XL. Love mine!!!

buy aqua-check 7 way and daily check with it. Very quick and good result..
But must have Taylor 2006 or 2006C. ( TFT using Taylor reagents)
