Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

In Maryland, Weis Markets has the Austin's Pool Tech shock, 12.5%, for $5.49/gallon. About 20 cents/gallon cheaper than a gallon of 10% at the Walmart in the same town. I added some to my pool and checked the results, and they were exactly as expected.

My go to local pool place (smith pools in Southaven ms) is still $9.99 for a 2.5 gal refill. ($4/gal) same as last year.
They do unfortunately keep the yellow jugs in crates infront of the store but they have now started posting the fill date on them so I pick what has only been sitting a day or so. Some of the jugs are less yellow than others & more see thru so I try to get the yellowist? ones.

in southwest ohio, the best deal seems to be at Menards. 12.5 pc net 4.55 per gal after rebate and usually fresh. on 6/14 date codes ranged from 145 to 160 and they store it inside. before finding TFP i would never have thought about date codes or if it was stored outside (like i have seen at various pool stores).

In the Tri-State Area (CT, NY, NJ) Ocean State Job Lot is a great place for all your pool chem needs.
12.5% gallon jugs are about $5.94, and they sell 4-pack boxes (no real discount though).

Just watch the dates at Ocean State Job Lot. for the longest time, the freshest I could get was the end of January 2024. Finally, last week I got some that had a date of 130 2024

The stuff I bought recently had a good date on it, forget exactly what it was but I checked in here on TFP on another thread and it was determined it was good to go. But always good to keep in mind!

Simple math works plenty good enough while in the aisle. 30 days is a full month plus the leftovers. So 156 is 5 full months, plus 6 days, or June 6th. It'll miss a few days here and there if we had more 31 day months so far, but a couple of days don't matter.

Miracle Chemical in Farmingdale, NJ is my go-to. $5.49/gallon of 12.5% chlorine, sold in 5 gallon carboys. There's a deposit on the carboys (I believe $15 each as of a few years ago). There's also a 10% cash discount and 10% Fire, EMS, Police discount. They also sell salt, 50-pound bags of soda ash and sodium bicarbonate, and 1 and 5-gallon containers of muriatic acid.
