It seems our local Home Depot quit carrying muriatic acid. It doesn't show up on Lowe's site either. Where are you guys buying it? I'm in Austin.

Our local hd has not had the 31% for almost two months but recently got it back in a different brand. While they where out I purchased from ace in the paint supplies section.

My little local independent hardware store carries it reasonably priced so check your mom & pops. Its in the cleaning/construction area since its used to clean concrete.

Ace is my go to, $10 to $12 for full strength depending on location. The home center have the weak stuff by me for $13 and the paint stores have full strength for $27

I just noticed that. I wonder why? Now they only have the "green" stuff and that says it is not to be used in pools.

I'll check out Ace.

I tried to look up the Klean-Strip Green brand seen on the Home Depot site. On Klean-Strip's site, nothing about not for pool use. No clue why it is "green" except "lower fumes". Label does not indicate strength, SDS says just somewhere between 10-30% (trade secret, apparently). I suppose if it is weak, it will have lower fumes, but no other additives noted. Ace hardware for me, so I know what I am getting.

If it was 30% or even close, they would be bragging about it. IMO it's 9.19% rounded up to 10. :ROFLMAO:

They just haven't certified that it's pool friendly. Muriatic acid is Muriatic acid.

Pool use was asked in the Q & A section of the HD page. The answer was no.

Yep, and their answer to that was extra ingredients that are a trade secret. Of course that is BS. You have to put it on the SDS.

The extra ingredient is probably water. Cut the real stuff and call it green.

I was in Home Depot today and looked to see if it was back. I couldn't find it but I saw two workers chatting and asked them about it. One said it was by the pool supplies and when I said it was not the other said it was way in the back in a cabinet. It took me a while but I finally found it. The brand has changed:

The price also changed. It is now $18.98 per box.
