Backwash valve with new Cartridge Filter installation

Hi!
I am about to replace my current DE filter (Hayward DE-720S) with a Pentair Clean and Clear Plus 520 cartridge filter. The current Hayward DE filter has a push-pull backwash valve installed. Im attaching an image with some description of the water flow. I’m located in North Texas, but I’m not entirely sure if by code we need to have a sewer line connected (it looks like it). So Im about to replace the DE filter with the Pentair cartridge filter but I am seeing from an ePoolSupply YouTube video that the Pentair Cartridge filter should not be installed with a backwash valve or otherwise it can blowup the cartridges on the inside. I understand that the Cartridge Filter does not require backwash, but I already bought a new push-pull backwash valve and would not like to return/exchange it for a multi port one or a jandy valve. So basically I have the following 2 questions (the second one is a completely different topic):

  1. Given my current installation (refer to attached image), is it safe to replace the Hayward DE filter with the Pentair Clean & Clear Plus 520 and use a new push-pull backwash valve?
  2. I am planning on installing a liquid chlorine feeder by using a peristaltic pump, an injection check valve and some PVC adapters. Should I install the feeder before going to the cartridge filter or after going through it?
Thanks in advance for the help/suggestions!

Cartridge filter users will plumb a 3 way diverter before the filter input to drain to waste.
