Let’s have a bit of fun doing the numbers.
It takes about an hour for my 250,000BTU Natural Gas heater to heat my 16,500 gallon pool/spa by 1 degree f. If we don’t take into account losses (of which there are many), heating my pool by 1 degrees f in one hour will take 250,000BTUs, which is an equivalent amount of energy as roughly 73.3kWh.
Judging by the rough size of those panels and an estimated efficiency of 15%, I’d say that panel produces about 30-60W of energy at maximum irradiance, so let’s say 45W per panel and let’s ignore losses and say the heater in this product uses 100% of the energy the panel produces.
So, in order to heat a 16,500 gallon pool by one degrees f in one hour, you need 73.3kWh of energy, which equates to having a constant 73.3kW of power for an entire hour. To get to 73.3kW, you will need about 1,629 of these devices operating simultaneously.
