I have read several posts in the forum about using both the wireless remote, and the iAualink on the same system. I already have the PDA system, and I like the idea of using it around the pool. So I would like to add the iAqualink so we can start the the hot tub on the way home from work or a night out. What I can not find is how to wire in both systems? I controller is about 4 months old, so I'm assuming I don't need a new board. Can anyone direct me to where to find how to wire this configuration?

From https://www.iaqualink.com/en/support/iq20:

  1. Ensure all power to the AquaLink power center is off. With the dead front panel removed, feed the red 4-pin connector through the bottom access hole into the low-voltage raceway.
  2. Guide the connector and wire through to the rear of the power center board.
  3. Pull the connector between the PC board & the metal brace, and connect it to the red 4-pin socket as shown.
  4. Up to two devices can be connected to one 4-pin socket (two wires per hole). If more capacity is needed, a 6584 multiplex board can be installed. See “helpful hints” section or see instructions included with the 6584 for more information.
  5. Ensure that all wires are properly attached to the Red 4-pin connector. The colors are 4-Green, 3-Yellow, 2-Black, 1-Red looking from left to right.
  6. Ensuring wires are not pinched, tilt up the metal board plate into position and replace the two screws. Replace the dead-front panel and reattach the screws. Turn power back on to the power center.

Note: Just because your installation is new doesn't mean that your builder provided the latest and greatest. I highly suggest you check the board revision before purchasing the IQ20-A.

First thing to know is that there are 2 WiFi setups. IQ20a and the IQ20RS. The IQ20a just allows you to turn things on and off with WiFi connected devices like phones but you can't program anything via WiFi. The PDA is your main interface. The IQ20RS swaps the roles so your WiFi is the main interface and the PDA is just for turning things on and off. I suggest the latter, the IQ20RS. Both require another board to be added to your system, which you should be able to do yourself. If you choose the RS, you will need to reprogram everything. The IQ20a doesn't change programming.
