Anyone ordered from Pool Covers Direct?

I wanted to chime in on this conversation as it really helped me and made me determine to go with poolcoversdirect.com. After checking with local venders, their pool cover was $300 less than the cheapest pool company near me and $700 cheaper than others. With that said I was worried that the pool cover was a fake, so I contacted Loop Loc via email to confirm this is a legit company that I can use to replace my existing Loop Loc cover. This is the message I got back:

With that support, I ordered a 20' x 40' cover with a 5' x 8' stair extension for $1325 with free shipping. It is supposed to be shipped soon, but I will try and update once it arrives and I am able to winterize my pool (a few months away). As a side note, you can order "Designer" colors such as Blue or Gray if you want to pay an extra $100 or so.

I hope this is able to help someone in the future. But I have been greatly pleased talking to Jill at Poolcoversdirect. As a bonus, since the purchase, PoolCoversDirect is in Illinois and I live in Tennessee, I did not get charged Sales tax :)

Same brand and manufacturer. Shipped directly from the manufacturer to my house via FedEx ground. The only thing I’d change is FedEx ground. For whatever reason (weight most likely) it shows up on a semi and they want you to either pick it up at their distribution point, or schedule a day to stay home for it.

Jason from PCD here, that is not normal, I'm not sure who this is, can you please contact me? I would like to look into this and see why they did delivery like that. Normally it is delivered directly to your house, or building, etc.

Just came across this post, you made Jill smile, but also we were nervous because the cover you ordered is for a step extension of 4x10, we checked the aerial view(don't worry it's blurry we can't see much) and you are good, your old cover step extension was 4x10...so phew. We have not been involved in this site, but would be glad to become a contributor, and donate, I have to look into it when things slow down, as of now it's crunch time.

Thanks, PCD for the clarification! Measuring is not my strong suit so I am glad you were able to pull the previous measurements from my original Loop-Loc cover.

To everyone else, I apologize for the late follow-up. We just closed my pool today and the pool closing company mentioned that the Loop-Loc was officially one the easiest mesh covers to install. They had to place the springs on each strap and mentioned how much easier it is compared to other brands. At the end of the day the cover is on, looks wonderful and I am very impressed.

As a final note, Pool Covers Direct has followed up several times as they patiently waited on me to close my pool. They wanted to make sure that everything was good with the cover and waited the extra 2 months for me to finally close the pool.

Great followup! As always communication is a great key to success and they deliver!

Just to follow-up, I did order a new Loop Loc cover from poolcoversdirect.com, the cover arrived well within the manufacture and shipping times that were indicated, and I had very little trouble installing it myself. The cover came directly from Loop Loc, and is of the quality and specification you would expect from them. The cover held up just fine over the Massachusetts winter, and I am getting ready to pull it off this week. poolcoversdirect.com was very friendly and helpful, and were always happy to take my calls and emails - as stated in previous emails, the cover was $1500 less than the least expensive quote I got from any local pool company, and I saved an additional $400 "installing" it myself.

I wouldn’t worry about it. It was more of a local FedEx Ground issue. Since it was over a certain weight, it was delivered to the house on a semi instead of a box truck. So they wanted someone at home since they were going to drop it off at the driveway instead of the house which is 300 feet away. They tell you they will call you when it leaves the depo but they don’t, the driver does when he’s about 15 minutes from your house.

I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another cover from you over it.

I just ordered from PCD 22x48 Loop Loc II Super Dense Mesh in green for $2168. However, when compared with the 20x40 mesh that user Crestar posted in this thread , the price was almost double from Sep of last year . PCD explained that material shortage due to pandemic is the reason. However this PCD price is still much better than quote from my pool builder company. Good thing that i checked online before proceeding with my local pool company.

I think yours was custom, the one that was half the price was an off the shelf one, so that makes a big difference in the price. You are correct though, there have been i believe 8 increases since 2020, which is definitely not normal.
