yes, to be clear, this is a mechanical issue with the physical power button/control panel on the unit. zero to do with firmware/software. While clunky, i was able to get it to work as advertised, and I was very impressed with the sand/grit the filter bag pulled up, as well as the waterline scrubing action. the dual brushes seemed to really work well in knocking loose anything that might be a little stuborn, and the vacume action never seemed to miss anything the bot drove over.
I really wish mine hadn't broken, but, as indicated, the short term reports coming back seem to indicate everyone is going to have that physical failure of the power switch, rendering the unit dead.
I really really hope they can fix it, but until then, i'm going to be getting a refund and trying the aiper seagull pro bot (which probably comes off the same line), as it seems to at least have some logetivity to it. no dual brushes, but on paper they seem otherwise similar, and its been out long enough to already have its teething issues fixed (He says hopefully)
