Hello everyone!

My 120v 300w incandescent flood bulb has burned out in my pool. (At least... I hope it's just burned out, and not something worse.)
I was interested in replacing it with something of an equivalent brightness that could change colors.

However there seems to be a ton of options out there with a WILDLY differing price range, and no one specifies a reason for the difference between a $70 bulb and a $300 bulb.

Previous posts have mentioned the site inyopools as a good source for bulbs. But the same issue crops up with no explanation given.
Pureline LED Pool Light Bulb Color Changing 120V 35W - $74.00
J & J Electronics ColorSplash LXG LED Pool Lamp 120V 23W - $299.99

Is it just the lower wattage? That seems crazy to me.

At any rate, can anyone recommend any reliable brands?
Or at least clue me in to what I should be looking for?

Thanks for reading!

My old bulb is still going strong. When it goes out, I will replace it with a color LED. I have no idea about what the Different types. I put a blue cover over my bulb to dim it and give the pool some blue color at night.

@Failed_Chemistry
I've been running the J&J Color Splash XG 120v LEDs for nearly 5 years now. I run my LED's from sundown to 11:00pm, 365 days a year and without one problem so far. The J&J lighting is compatible with Pentair lighting schemes/shows.

I should note however, that shortly after I purchased the J&J LED's in 2018, the company was purchased by Halco Lighting. Recently, Halco Lighting spun off their Pool & Landscape Lighting Business and sold it to Hayward.

Hayward has the following statement on their website
..
"Our recent acquisition of J&J adds to our portfolio of the best, highest quality pool and spa lighting offering in the industry. These lights are a great addition to any existing structure, also providing a variety of lighting options to transform your space. Color Splash® Series fixtures and lamps operate with most competitor automation systems for ease of install and use."

Here is where you can view the J&J's Electronics Pool Lighting which is now on the Hayward website.

Now that Hayward owns and controls J&J Electronics, it's hard to say how their acquisition of the company may impact the quality of these lights in the future???
