Any experience with Home Depot K2 Pool Pumps?

Hi all, no crisis as I have an existing operational Hayward Super single speed pump. But I'm contemplating a pump change to a variable speed, and noticed THD has these K2 pumps.

I get a veteran's discount at THD and Lowe's so tend to look there first. I see folks here citing the Pentair pump as excellent. Just wondering if anyone has tried and succeeded or failed with the K2's.

Thanks,
Gary

Does your utility offer a rebate?

If yes, the pump probably needs to be listed as an EnergyStar Certified pump.

It looks like the K2 Pump is not EnergyStar Certified even though it says DOE compliant.

It looks like the pump is made in China and probably imported by DK Hardware.

Thanks for your reply James. Ironically enough we moved out of Austin 4 months ago. Our new utility offers rebates on pretty much everything EXCEPT pool pumps unfortunately. Thanks for the feedback. I'll post my opinions here if I wind up testing out the K2. Cheers!!

LOL!!! Clever... Good thing Google Translate exists!!! :p I looked on Google Maps for the location of "GP Enterprises", it looks like it's barely more than a freight-forwarding "storefront". I'll probably keep looking, I thought with Home Depot selling them that they lent some credence to them. :p
