Hello, all! We have been in our home for 3 years, and our fourth summer is ahead of us. The previous owners built our pool, which has a SunDek covering on the concrete pool deck. When we bought the house, the deck looked great, but last year we noticed that the SunDek coating was starting to come off in numerous places, and as of this month, about 60% of the deck has issues. We had SunDek rep come out, and they quoted us $4600 to "fix it." I'm looking for alternatives and hoping this forum can help.
I believe the deck is somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 sq ft. I'd love to get a number less than $4600, and also concerned that the SunDek rep is not that responsive, and their marketing material is also not great (for example, he offered an extended warranty verbally, but never provided any information, and also didn't provide any information on upkeep, which I'd like to have so I don't drop another $4600 in 5 years). We are in Richmond, VA, so there are not a TON of pool companies, compared to say Florida or California, but I always shop around.
Any suggestions on alternative materials or ways to get the best SunDek deal?
Thanks!
