Air pillow for inground?

Hi all, new pool this year, 1st winter, just had solid safety cover installed. I'm thinking instead of putting a heavy pump on it and worrying about freezing or burning up, maybe a large air pillow under cover so rain runs off??? It's a 14x28 rectangle so I'm thinking a large 4x8 pillow....thoughts???

Where will all the water go? You'll have water draining down off all sides...will that cause a problem if its going toward the house or someplace you don't want that water to go?

No, there's a slot drain between pool and house.

If your pool is properly winterized, the freezing is not an issue.
