Need a new natural gas heater, I have a 50k gallon pool and my old Jandy heater would not ignite. Would like to get the largest possible 400BTU + Any recommendations?
Hayward's pool heater saves money by being the most energy efficient solution for any pool/spa. It's designed for ultimate performance, comfort and durability while being environmentally responsible. For rapid comfort, we offer the Universal solution.
They are both good. I have had Pentair MasterTemps. Many folks here are happy with their Raypaks.
They are different designs. MasterTemp uses a forced air blower vent system to power airflow through the combustion process. I think it is smaller and more compact. The Raypak 406A uses a more traditional natural heat upflow vent process. I think it is larger then the MasterTemp. So if siting and venting and airflow are issues in your location one may be better then the other.
Check on the warranty you will get with each depending on where you buy it and how you have it installed.
Figure out who you would turn to for service and repairs. That may be the deciding factor along with warranty.
Raypak all the way I think they make the best heater avail. For a 50k pool even a 400k is considered small many use dual or commercial heaters. Depends how much heating ur doing
