Added 3 gallons of conditioner but CYA is still zero

I dumped 3 gallons of Instant Conditioner which should have brought CYA level to 30 but it is still zero after 3 days.

I bought it from my local store, they keep their chemicals inside the store, checked the expiration date is 2026, waited
for it to bind.

Do you know what's going here?

I neglected my pool so it's green, I balanced TA and pH, but CYA is zero. Not sure if I should start SLAM. I can go buy another
3 gallons of conditioner from a different store but I am concern CYA will pop up to 60. I've done this before more than once but
never had trouble with conditioner.

Thanks!

When you added the liquid conditioner did you shake it well before pouring?

And then did you refill the jug halfway with water, shake it well, and pour it into the pool?

Then do it again until the water is coming out clear?

The active ingredients are heavy and settle to the bottom. If not mixed well in the jug all the active ingredient does not get into the pool.

Using dry stabilizer is more predictable for what gets into the pool.

If you need to SLAM then get it going while you sort out your CYA.

Yes! I did shake it and cut it with the water and flushed it well, slowly poured in front of return at the deeper end, it took me time to do it probably
around 10 min or more.

TA is 70, pH is 7.6, pool is green.

I'll start on SLAM then,

TX!

Assume the CYA you added is in the water for your SLAM FC level.

Each gallon of liquid stabilizer will add 10 ppm of CYA. So with 3 gallons you have maybe 30 ppm.

How are you testing for CYA? The turbidity test is the hardest one for me. A lot of times, I feel like it is somewhat subjective. Aside from something eating it and turning it to ammonia (not super common), I would just trust the math.
