ABS/PVC to Intex 40MM w/Thread Tape?

It'll work even without the tape if you just add a second 1/8" thick rubber gasket. That allows it to seal off prior to the threads binding up. I've done quite a bit of PVC to Intex connections this way.

Actually, mine were all just the opposite of yours though. I connected the female Intex collars to the male PVC threaded connector.

Awesome. But doesn't the gasket require a "lip" inside the PVC adapter for pressure? This specific adapter has no lip.

I am not using the Intex hose on these connections (where another gasket would make sense)....it's 2" PVC > Adapter > Intex Inlet/Outlet.

No, you can just use a flat washer. Here's what I made to run my return, Intex robot, and footwash simultaneously.

I see...you guys are using the Intex hoses. I could go that way but was trying to do most of the plumbing between filter, pump, salt system and heater with PVC.

What size flat washer did you use on the Intex hose side?

I think it was 2 1/4" x 1/8". It was slightly too large to lay flat inside the collar on the end of the Intex hose. But once you screwed it down, it worked just fine.
