I'm in the process of changing the hoses that came with my pool last year to PVC and moving the pump away from the side of the pool. The skimmer, return jet, pump, and filter currently are all fitted with 1.5" hose barb fittings. I plan to use 2" PVC and reduce down to 1.5" at the skimmer and return with Doughboy barb-to-1.5" PVC adapters (since the barbs are molded into the parts). I'll then use 2"-1.5" PVC reducers to get up to the 2" main run pipe. At the pump and filter, the barb fittings are threaded in, so I will just use 1.5" threaded PVC adapters with 2"-1.5" reducers. Just outside the skimmer and the jet at the pool wall, I'm adding shutoff valves for serviceability. At the pump inlet and outlet, I am using unions for serviceability and so I can bring the pump inside in the winter. Am I missing anything else I should be adding to the plumbing? Any tips or tricks to know that might prevent future regrets?
