2 Speed to VS Pump

My pool pump motor finally died. I currently have a 2.5HP two-speed Century motor. Inyo pool is telling me a 2.25 VS Century pump will work fine as a replacement. The build for the VS motor is a 48Y vs the current 56Y. I was told the VS will come with an adapter that resolves the fit issue.

Will the .25HP reduction affect the functioning of the filter, deck jets, etc.? Do I have to change the impeller due to the smaller HP? Thx

You don't have to change the impeller, the motor automatically derates (lowers RPM) if the power draw gets too high.

Also, the EVO has built in compatibility with Aqualink RS controller which is plus.
