    Pre-install pvc help

Probably a better option to keep everything straight. Can I get away with cutting both sections of pipe in the middle where the red line is? Or does there need to be more space on either side? I’ve never owned a pool before and I’m embarrassed to admit I don’t know what the red handle does so...

    Pre-install pvc help

Maybe 12-18”? But maybe that will work. It gets a little tight with the AC units and needing access to service. Worried about head loss with all the 90s in a vertical short install but I think my options are pretty limited.

    Pre-install pvc help

Going to try and get my RJ45+ installed over this long weekend. PVC is 2”. I have a very short length of pvc on the return side which is about 20”. Too tight to plumb straight so I’m thinking of doing a vertical install per the red markup in the attached photo. My thought was to cut out a 12”...

Tips for my SWG after changing to Variable Speed Pump

If you’re running 24/7, did you still install a timer with the RJ?

    PSI warning on RJ45+

I saw the reading which is what made me question it. The valves are after where the cell will be installed.

    PSI warning on RJ45+

I see the RJ45+ has the 10 PSI warning. I’ve got my aerator, returns and a waterfall valve after the cell. How can I determine if closing/opening various valves will breach the PSI warning limit? The waterfall valve goes to 3 sheer descents. Small pool so I only have 1 aerator and 4 returns.

Better to run VSP 24/7 or install a timer?

I think in my Monday brain I was thinking I could run the cell x amount of hours to generate chlorine at the higher speed it needs especially during the summer. Then, I could dial the pump speed down to save on electricity costs when I don’t need chlorine generated. I guess with the 5%...

Better to run VSP 24/7 or install a timer?

I do this now about twice a day for 30 minutes but eventually the air comes back. I’m worried the air pocket will become more of an issue with a 24/7 runtime and I’ll just need to keep it higher all the time defeating the purpose of a lower speed 24/7.

Better to run VSP 24/7 or install a timer?

Have an RJ45+ on the way. Currently have a VS950 pump. I’m debating on installing a timer vs just running the pump 24/7. Due to the pvc pipe length limitation, I am going to have to install the flow switch after the cell so I can include the cell length as straight pipe per the owners manual on...

Timer options with a SWG and VSP

Yeah with the heat and hot water temps we get here I’m considering the 60. I run the pump 830am to 5pm. Not opposed to a 24/7 but I noticed on low rpm 1200/1300 the pump fills with air over time. Maybe an inch or 1.5” worth after it runs a while. Have checked for leaks and sealed the o rings...

Timer options with a SWG and VSP

I’ve been thinking about purchasing the Circupool RJ45+…for a while now. I have a Hayward VS950 pump. I know I need some sort of timer since the pump utilizes a built in timer. Has anyone successfully used a wifi plug in outlet and ran the SWG through that? I could control the time on my phone...

    Thinking of SWCG

Just wondered since our water is so hard out here. If our city fill water starts saltier would ppm creep up too fast.

    Thinking of SWCG

How often are you cleaning yours? Or having to replace water due to salt ppm being at the higher end of the operating range?

    Thinking of SWCG

Following as I’m interested in a DIY install. Curious how they handle in the hotter AZ climates such more frequent cleanings or short life span. Just bought LC (3/22 Julian) and it’s already degraded to 5%. Doesn’t seem worth it at this point and I refuse to use tabs myself.

What’s your water temp - Spring 2024 edition

79F here in Phoenix yesterday. Jumped in last weekend and it was still a little chilly for me. Waiting for the mid 80s. Not too much longer to go.

Cartridge filter was very dirty but PSI did not rise.

Biggest regret was not getting a SWG already! I’ve got to see if I can fit one in.

Cartridge filter was very dirty but PSI did not rise.

I’ve got a Hayward C4030 filter…with the vs950 pump I’m sure the pool salesman loved upselling us on this tiny pool. Good call with the inline. Definitely going to purchase one.

Cartridge filter was very dirty but PSI did not rise.

Are you changing those when you clean out the skimmer basket or do you have to clean them more frequently?

Cartridge filter was very dirty but PSI did not rise.

First time owning a pool and I cleaned my filter for the first time since the pool was finished in November. Wanted to knock out cleaning before it gets hot here. The amount of debris was shocking however PSI never increased on the gauge. I thought maybe the pressure gauge was broken but after...

Pool math app giving different values to lower pH

Range on the note says +\- 0.4 from 7.2 to 7.8. Even with a +\- 0.4 it would leave me at no change or only drop me to 7.6 from 8.2….right?

Pool math app giving different values to lower pH

Using pool math and a TF Pro. Test says pH is 8.2 and I want to lower to 7.4. In the pH section the app says to add 17oz to bring me to 7.4. When I look at effects of adding, it says 17oz will drop pH only 0.4 which would be down to 7.8. Those numbers are obviously giving two different values...
