    Jandy TruDose - Thoughts?

Does anyone know or have experience with the Jandy TruDose system? I'm tired of dosing acid to my pool every other day. PH also goes above 8.0 while we are out of town for a week. Thanks!

Salt Cell running 100% 24hrs a day not producing enough FC

Just got a new cell and cord from them. Working great so far! Great price too. Finally making good FC. Old one was definitely at the end of its life.

OCLT pass with flying colors. CYA is at 70 and CC is 0.5

Salt Cell running 100% 24hrs a day not producing enough FC

it’s pushing a good amount of gas out but still not making enough FC.

Salt Cell running 100% 24hrs a day not producing enough FC

it’s been running at 100% for the past two days and keeping the FC constant at 4.5. The cell is pushing air bubbles out of the return jets. Is that a sign of it slowly dying?

Salt Cell running 100% 24hrs a day not producing enough FC

Found this. Their price is $300 less than others. Is this a reputable company? https://www.poolsupplyunlimited.com/pool/jandy-r0452400-aquapure-purelink-replacement-salt-cell/53075p1

I see. Wonder why I'm not getting any error codes if the cell is going bad.

Salt Cell running 100% 24hrs a day not producing enough FC

Sorry, I was referring to the past couple of days. It's been running 30-40% 23hr/day 7 months per year, for the past three years.

Salt Cell running 100% 24hrs a day not producing enough FC

Cell is three years old. Still running at 100% at 23h/day, I'm getting FC 5.5 reading from the sample I took from the return jet and FC 5.0 from the middle of the pool. FC 4.5 last night. We got 0.5" of rain last night, but I don't think it affected the water much.

Salt Cell running 100% 24hrs a day not producing enough FC

The three prongs look all corroded after I cleaned out the scale. At 100%, it didn't produce chlorine last night. Probably 0.5 to 1 in the span of 10 hours. I'm not getting any error codes on the panel. Is there a diagnostic feature that I can run on the panel?

That's great. What do I know. Putting it back now. 😭

Salt Cell running 100% 24hrs a day not producing enough FC

Maybe this is why I'm not getting enough FC? :ROFLMAO:😭 It's marinating in an acid bath bucket right now 1 part Muriatic Acid and 3 part tap water. Hopefully, this will fix it. I will run it at 100% tonight and see how much FC it produces in the morning.

    FC 7.5 at 9 pm. FC 7.0 at 6 am. I guess that’s a pass for OCLT?

Salt Cell running 100% 24hrs a day not producing enough FC

Thanks Jim, and I hope you're right. I'll throw some liquid chlorine today to get the FC to 8. We got over an inch of rain last night so I will have to do OCLT tonight instead and report back.

Salt Cell running 100% 24hrs a day not producing enough FC

I'm running my salt cell at 100% for the past couple of days with the pump running 24 hrs a day and I'm still getting constant FC of 2.5 to 3. The water looks to be nice and clear. I did the FAS-PDP test and CC is 0.5. I'm doing OCLT tonight and see what the reading is in the morning and will...

    Regret increasing CYA to 80

Oh snap.. so that cloudiness wasn't from Algae? hahah I didn't see any signs of algae either the day before. I was all confused. I was always told that cloudly pool = algae. 😭

    Regret increasing CYA to 80

Here's the story. Everything was fine and dandy. I had crystal-clear water, and all levels were perfect. The pool has a severe calcium build-up from high PH beginning of the season and random metal staining from the ledge umbrella, so I decided to try out Scaletec Plus treatment to see if it...

    Regret increasing CYA to 80

I totally regret increasing my CYA from 40 to 80. SLAM 8 gallons of bleach is not fun vs just using 3. I already went through 15 gallons just to keep the FC at 28 for the past couple of days. 😭

Cloudy Pool after adding Algaecide BioGuard Algae All 60

Since last Tuesday via Scaletec Plus direction to keep FC low, use Algaecide, and do not shock the pool.

Cloudy Pool after adding Algaecide BioGuard Algae All 60

It doesn’t make any sense. The water went from clear to cloudy overnight after adding the bio guard. I would waste all of the Scaletec Plus bottles I put in if I shock the pool. This sucks.

Cloudy Pool after adding Algaecide BioGuard Algae All 60

Don't think so. I added it as a preventative because I'm keeping FC below 1 to descale using Scaletec Plus. CYA is 80. Maybe 18 oz is a bit much? Readings before I added the Algaecide FC 0.5 PH 7.4 TA 90 CYA 80 CH 330 Borates 50 Salt 3000 Water Temp 85-87
