Calibrating salinity level

I recently replaced the back board on my Jandy system and after firing it up I'm getting a "145' error, high salinity - 25400, which I knew had to be incorrect as I just had the water tested the previous day. I ran another test, which showed 30.0, and this tells me I need to recalibrate the salinity system.

I followed the necessary steps - press and hold the salinity button until you hear 3 beeps, press the Temp button, then adjust the salinity level. After doing this, though, the display reads "H.H gpl" and won't allow me to make any adjustments. What can I do to clear this? Will I need to clear the memory through iAqualink and reset everything?

Please help.
 

Disconnect the flow salinity temp sensor from the front board.

Press and hold the test buttons marked salinity and R-temp.

While still pressing the test buttons press the ‘Salinity’ key (‘C’) on the front cover of the unit.

The LCD should read 2.8 gpl*.

While still holding the two front board test buttons press the ‘Pool Temperature’ key (‘D’).

It should read 75° F or 24° C.

Next, press and hold the board ‘H-Temp’ test button, and at the same time press the ‘Salinity’ key (‘C’) together with the ‘Chlorine Production Rate’ arrow down key (‘A’) on the front cover of the unit.

The LCD should read 91° F or 33° C .

If the readings are correct then the front board is O.K. and the problem is with the flow sensor.

On the other hand if the readings are different then it indicates that there is a problem with the front board.

When the testing and repair is complete reconnect the flow sensor and reset the internal computer (do this by restarting the unit).

*Note: If the the salinity reading has been recalibrated this reading maybe different.

Before condemning the board check salinity setting.

Here's the update....

Part 1:
Press and hold the test buttons marked salinity and R-temp.
While still pressing the test buttons press the ‘Salinity’ key (‘C’) on the front cover of the unit.
The LCD should read 2.8 gpl*.

Result: The display flashed 'H.H' then returned to 00% production

Part 2:
While still holding the two front board test buttons press the ‘Pool Temperature’ key (‘D’).
It should read 75° F or 24° C.

Result: The display showed 74 F

Part 3:
Next, press and hold the board ‘H-Temp’ test button, and at the same time press the ‘Salinity’ key (‘C’) together with the ‘Chlorine Production Rate’ arrow down key (‘A’) on the front cover of the unit.
The LCD should read 91° F or 33° C .

Result: The display showed 90 F


Since the 1st part of the results flashed 'H.H', should I assume this indicates a bad PIB? I hope not as this would replacement #3.

Check the two attachments. The board with the red connector is the original board from 2008 when the pool was first installed. The board with the black connector is replacement board #1. I replaced it because it wouldn't detect the Aquapure. Replacement #2 that is currently connected and running found the Aquapure, but only if I attached the jumper that I have circled. Replacement #2 is the 1 sending the H.H error.

Just for testing, I reinstalled replacement #1 and didn't get the H.H error, but it still wouldn't connect to the Aquapure even with the jumper in place.

I'm leaning towards getting another board since #1 didn't think the salt level was high and didn't give the H.H error like board #2 did.

The H.H code indicates very high salinity, as noted in the first post, and the only way to correct that is dilution. It's an easy fix, but I know the salinity is not high, it is 3.0 and was tested twice in the past 2 days by myself and a tech at Leslie's pools.
