Concrete or fiberglass pool in Katy, Tx

Don't worry about all the flowrate stuff on the pump and filter. Does not matter. The pump will never pump more than that filter can manage.
The spa with only four jets likely does not need a separate spa pump. The Intelliflo (plumbed correctly) will easily handle 4 jets.

Pump connectors need to be pump rated unions.

Using natural stone around any pool requires it to be high quality or it will degrade.
I am getting push back from my PB that if I use SWG sanitizer system, I will have to sign waver for stone and if I use anything beside Jandy products, they just provide warranty through the manufacturer and they will not consider under their umbrella warranty.
He is providing me with:
Fusion-Mineral-Chlorinator
Jandy 2.7 HP Var.Speed ProSeries-Pump
Jandy 460 Cartridge
Ray-Pak 399K with gas stubed at meter
Jandy IQ- 904 PS(what is this item for? is it necessary?)
They are very reputable company and they provide umbrella warranty . Basically any u=issues, I am not chaning contractors.
What is your thoughts on that?

Fusion-Mineral-Chlorinator
So adding copper which stains finishes and swimmers, and only comes out by draining is a better idea ? Yeah. No.

It just proves how little these people know, or how much they like the incentives they get from pushing certain packages.

I can't give you magical words to convince someone set in their ways. But you're paying boatloads to install your pool, not theirs. If changing PBs is out of the question, have them set you up to DIY, or hire someone else after the fact. They very well may still be the best choice for the build itself.

So, does it worth it sign the waver for the stone, have warranty of pumb under just manufacturer instead if I ended up keepin the contractor?
Do you know reliable contractor in Katy, Tx

That's up to you to decide if you'd rather forgo the warranties or play along until they're gone.

Make sure the TFP braintrust has a look at your choice of stones. Poor quality stone weathers from the elements and some while lovely have zero business in a wet environment.

This is the automation package. It will allow you to control the system from your phone app or computer. I would say it is needed.
I have this set up (older version which I have since upgraded) along with JANDY SWCG. It all works well.

My view - their warranty for stone will be hard to challenge even if you did not have a SWCG. He is just putting the ball in your court.
The fusion packet can cause more harm than good in the long run. I love my SWCG.

Don't get hung up on the word "salt".

You will be using a "salt water chlorine generator".

Focus on the word "chlorine".

The salt water chlorine generator (swcg) simply introduces the chlorine into the pool. The chlorine is what sanitizes the water. The other TFP approved means of sanitizing the water is to use liquid chlorine. Aka sodium hypochlorite, or bleach. (All three are the same thing, although the strength may vary. 10%, 12.5%, etc).

If you were to use liquid chlorine to sanitize the water, after a very short period of time, you would end up with almost as much salt in the water that you have in there to utilize the swcg. Salt is a byproduct of the liquid chlorine, and builds up in the water over time.

Regarding plaster vs. fiberglass, I have a 2 year old fiberglass pool.

I'm not really happy with it. Its out of level, even though the installers with their fancy laser level said it wasnt. It is. The tracks for the auto cover (strongly suggested) really magnify it.

And I would have been much, much more of a hard a** with the installers. Because after they leave ,its all yours. No matter what they say.

And the there's the blisters...........

For equipments, depending on equipment 1-3 years
For equipment purchased through an authorized distributor and installed, you get extended warranty regardless if salt or not. Also, Jandy, Pentair, Hayward, etc all make pumps, filters, heaters and SWCGs. They all work together. As stated before, if your have a warranty claim on the stone it may not matter if it was exposed to salt or not.
As stated by @RLP I had a salt level of 2600ppm in my pool BEFORE I converted to a SWCG. I only raised it to 3200ppm to be in range of 3000 to 3500rpm for the SWCG.

Wondering if you know a good contractor for pool in houston/katy area in tx

Hello All,
It is harder than what i thought to make a decision !
If I move to chlorine system instead of SWG, what would be your suggestion for sanitizer system? How about other equipments/features that contractor suggested ? Do you see them reasonable? any other items in contract I should consider? any suggestions? How about payments and pricing

Personally, I would rather not own a pool than have a pool without a SWG.

Some people are ok purchasing, transporting, and manually adding 0.5-1 gallons of liquid chlorine daily during swim season, I am not.

Some people are ok with spending hundreds of dollars on unnecessary chemicals, plus regular water exchanges due to high CYA, which still result in occasional or frequent algae or unsanitary water. I definitely am not.

My water has been crystal clear from day one. I can go on weeks long vacations and not worry about my pool at all. SWG is the most long term economical method to chlorinate.

The only con I can conceive is that there is an initial cost to add a SWG. With a new build, any slight additional cost is likely not noticeable.

It appears there is a SWCG - it states EZ Touch with Salt.

The EZ Touch 4 with Screen Logic is going to be obsoleted by Pentair. Ask for the Intellicenter Automation System with Salt.
The Intelliflo3 VS pump and 420 Cartridge filter are good as well as 400 BTU heater.
Ask that the 2 skimmers and main drain all be independently plumbed back to the equipment pad and have Jandy type of diverter valves for control of each.
Ask for payment terms to be modified to allow 10% upon completion - this implies water in pool and equipment functioning.
They want 95% payment before deck is poured and pool is plastered. Interesting on the Kitchen payment terms they indicate they are agreeable to accept some payment “upon completion” so why not for pool?

Since your PB is a fan of Jandy products and will honor their warranty with his umbrella warranty, why won’t he install a Jandy Nature 2 Fusion Soft and warrant it? Tell him to not install the stupid mineral packet and leave the blank in when he installs it. You get a SWG and he gets his Jandy equipment. 🤔

I'll do you one better. I moved after having a SWG for 8.5 years. I bought my next SWG before having a builder for pool #2.

For 18 months, I had a SWG with no pool.

They are *that* convienent.
