Water is looking fantastic, overnight levels are holding and cc is where it needs to be. Before I officially close out my slam I need to know if this is black Algae or not. These spots only appear on the sun shelf and no where else. Thanks for all of the help! Pools been filled for less then a...

Algae is only visible when I sweep. I don’t know if that counts as visible or not. The water clouds up a bit after a sweep each morning. Pre sweep the water is fairly clear.

So I am nearing the end of my slam I hope. Water is getting fairly clear , I only see Algee or dead algee when I brush the sun shelf. Cc is between .5-1.0 next test will use the more precise measuring method. Overnight loss seems to be in a good place levels went up overnight instead of...

    Travertine type

We are picking out our deck. We have decided that it will be travertine. We have 2 choices sandblasted or honed. Really like the feel of the honed but worried about how slick it may become when it’s wet. Got some samples of sandblasted and they feel really gritty when you walk on the them...

Question - spa or no spa for new pool build?

The question is do you plan to have or want automation and do you want a heater. If the answer to those questions is yes. Get the spa . Most of the cost goes into those 2 items. The actual spa doesn’t add too much cost above those items. It also gives you a water feature from doing it to. So...

Please help evaluate a quote on a new gunite pool - Illinois

Depends on what is included. How much deck, what type of deck, tile options (glass or 6x6), and is propane included? I can tell you we are building a pool with 1550 sqft of travertine, a screen and its 10 feet smaller for about 20K less. One thing you need to consider is getting the 400K...

    How long should it take?

Just started with our dig. We were told at least 22 weeks. Pool builders are taking a beating right now trying to get supplies. Likely cause of the lengthy timeline

    Wood Burning Fire Pits

It would be pre fab non permeant, install. Probably a lot like what you are describing. Biggest fear is go to bed after a fire rains a bit over night and super stained deck in the morning.

    Wood Burning Fire Pits

So we are having and pool and screen enclosure built for us. We want to have a non permanent wood burning fire pit. It would be located on the deck, which will be travertine. I am wondering if a pit with drain holes will damage or discolor the deck if it were to rain in it. Would we need to take...

    LED waterfalls

Thanks for the pictures. It helps to see a real install and not a crazy marketing video when they surround the waterfalls with fire bowls.

    LED waterfalls

We currently have 2 18 inch sheer decent waterfalls in our pool design. Thinking about switching those out for some Color changing led waterfalls Led water falls Cost is not much more so we are wondering if these are worth it for adding extra light to the pool or more of a party trick.
