Leak Repair Question

I had a leaking pipe under a concrete deck. Guys cut out a square and made this repair to a pipe when runs to the built in spa. Is this appropriate/adequate? There really is no room without pulling out a lot more deck.

That’s a standard repair trick for PVC in a tight location. Using the four 90’s allows the plumber to correct the leak and properly make a good PVC glue joint. When the space is tight, there is no way to make a straight line repair and properly make a good glue joint. The elbows allow for easier placement.

The only downside to that repair is that you now have 6 glue joints instead of two which is three times as many potential leaks. It also makes snaking that pipe in the future nearly impossible. However, if the plumber did their job correctly, then that repair is as good as any straight piece of pipe and you should have no issues.

There are telescopic repair couplings like this but most repair guys don't carry them around. So four 90's is the easy repair with what he has.
