I like this idea. Best of all worlds, have a little shelf, as well as the steps, but don’t eat away too much from the length. If I did the same set up, I would be +\- 28’ of swimmable space after the shelf/step area.

We have a smaller pool (12x24) because it was the largest we could do in our yard for many reasons. We did a full-length bench on one side (similar to option 2) and I'm glad we did. We don't have kids and when we have people over I find that often we all end up sitting on the bench. We also bumped out the steps so they wouldn't take up too much of the pool itself. Given the limitations we had on size, I'm happy with the final design with the bench.

Its a robotic skimmer. It swims around picking up floating debris because sometimes crud gets waterlogged and sinks before it finds the skimmers.
As a forum full of enthusiasts, we have a lot of members with neat toys.
There's an entire subculture devoted to these and also floor cleaning robots.
It’s a Betta skimmer robot. It is solar powered. Some models can be both solar and regular plug in charge.
It is a great addition to help on maintenance.
Search Betta and you will find lots of info.

Off original topic and unsure if I should make a new post - however, does any one have experience with an auto cover that has a walk-on lid? Tried to search but got varied results - looking to get an auto cover with a walk on aluminum lid. My PB says we can do coping lid, however he does not suggest walking on them as they are and can come loose. With aluminum walk on lid, at least it can be walked on and my kids or others can still walk/jump off into the deep end from this area - at least this is my thinking - anyone have experience/photos, etc?

Permit stage right now, but have to decide on auto cover sooner than later to prep for order/planning, etc.
Wondering what everyone/anyone who has auto covers, has for lids, walk on specifically as per my previous message

What thickness aluminum are you thinking of? Aluminum will dent and crease. I don’t think it will look good over time. And how will it be secured?

I do not have all the details or specs on the auto cover or lids, however I was told it will be a Flush mount lid that is walk-on strength...
I can try to chase down the exact manufacturer/company my PB proposes to use for the auto cover and get some more details.
