We hadn't used the jetted tub in a year or two when the Mrs asked recently if she could, and I promptly cringed. Lemme clean it first and then I'll keep it purged if it keeps being used.

I got a bunch of gunk out and the ahhsome lived up to its name yet again. I was kinda surprised there weren't any big chunks but also happy I didn't have to fish out said big chunks. :ROFLMAO:

The 1st round started to loosen the crud, and then 4 more rounds to blow clean foam.

🤢🤮

If the tub gets any use - jet on or not - might be best to keep it purged on the regular.

Just looking at this purge would have grossed my wife out enough to never want to use the jetted tub again - showers instead.

I was keeping it clean and then we got out of the habit of using it and i got lazy. Then a good deal of time passed and I definitely wanted to start up again before someone hit the on button. :ROFLMAO:

I have to do the same to mine.

I put in a jetted tub years ago, and my wife used to use it on almost a daily basis. I used to purge it regularly. Then we got a hot tub. She stopped using the jetted tub, and uses the hot tub. The kids used to use that bathroom and shower in that tub, but did not use the tub itself. Then the kids all moved out. That tub has been basically sitting there. The other day, while I was not home, my wife decided to take a hot bath in that tub (without the jets) because it is cold out, and she was not feeling well. She thought the heat and steam would help. She said she filled the tub, and she could see black specks floating out of the jet ports.

I guess I will be purging it over the weekend.

They sell caps for all the holes if you no longer plan to use the jets.

I have a few clients with jetted tubs and really want to purge them as an add on service but I fear I would be there all day. Not to mention that many often have clogged/slow drains, leaky faucets etc. so I often perform my cleaning routine with as little water as possible to avoid delays.

I spent an hour and a half with it being pretty bad. I walked away many times for quick side quests but was worried it would overflow with bubbles if I left it too long. If it was outside I would have walked away for the full 15 mins each cycle.

You could easily clean the rest of the bathroom and the nearby bedrooms while it's purging. Vacuum a room, check the tub, clean a few windows, check the tub.........

It would be an easy sell a couple times a year because you can look them dead in the eyes and tell them how you wouldn't use their tub. Mention how it's part of your normal routine for your own hot tub, then show them the pics above. Then send them pics of their own gunk and they'll WANT to continue the service. :ROFLMAO:

I’m super handy- but… hear me out… the thought of a plumbing mishap at someone’s home scares me away. Electricity, no problem. But I have a strange fear of not being able to shut the water off 😂
I am getting braver though…
I do plumbing at my own house.

I ended up purging it three times. I no longer get any sort of brown scum (or any scum for that matter) but what I do end up with is what appears to be some sort of off white mineral salts in the bottom of the tub.

I do have hard water, but I don't think the Ahhsome takes care of that. My wife used to use dead sea salt in the tub when she used to use it on a regular basis. Maybe that stuff is in the pipes now. Who knows? I'll just keep purging.
